Advance Tank and Construction is a construction company that works throughout the continental United States.  We build large capacity, steel erected, storage products from the ground up.  We are looking for a Civil Carpenter person in Texas City Tx.  We are interested in those who are experienced, hardworking, and know how to work safely.

PAY RANGE

$28.00 to $34.00 per hour

The pay range is dependent on the person’s experience and capabilities. Benefits include: paid vacation, sick leave, 401K, and health & dental insurance. This is an employment at will position.

  • Must be able to perform all duties in a manner that creates a safe environment for all employees
  • This position is a traveling position that requires all candidates to have reliable transportation and possession of a TWIC card or the ability to obtain one if necessary, for this position.
  • Must have experience in the use of tools, including but not limited to: shovel, claw hammer, and pry bar.
  • Must be competent with a tape measure.  Minimal use of power tools.
  • Must be physically capable and willing to regularly carry 60 to 75 pounds and stand on feet a minimum of 8 hours a day.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-hire physical verifying ability to perform essential functions of job, as well as a DOT drug test at hire and whenever required by Advance Tank or its customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND TASKS:

  • Must be able to perform all duties in a manner that creates a safe environment for all employees
  • Excavation, trenching, and laying pipe: Must be capable of using a shovel or rake for leveling excavated material or stone, assisting in unloading, positioning, loading, and back filling of pipe.
  • Formwork: Must be capable of assisting the carpenters with unloading, positioning, erecting, stripping, cleaning, oiling and loading forms.
  • Concrete work: Must be capable of using a shovel or rake to place and level concrete.  Must be capable of carrying and using a 30-pound concrete vibrator on the ground and on scaffolding.  Must be capable of rough rubbing concrete.
  • Flanged Piping and Plumbing: Must be capable of assisting with the installation of piping, gaskets, and bolts with either wrenches or power tools.
  • Reinforcing Steel: Must be capable of assisting rod busters with unloading, positioning, installing, and loading re-bar.
  • Surveying and Layout: Must be capable of carrying and holding upright under all site conditions a grade rod twenty-five feet long, weighing approx. twenty pounds.  Must be capable of using a four to eight-pound hammer to drive stakes.
  • Must be capable of working at heights of thirty to fifty feet above ground.

SCHEDULE:

The work is scheduled for Monday through Friday, often ten hours a day.  However, often the customer dictates the working hours, so may need to work hours prescribed by the customer.  Furthermore, overtime is required in this job.

WORK CONDITIONS:

This job requires extensive travel within the United States and will require significant time away from home.   You will be on your feet all day, which can include kneeling, bending, and standing.  Wearing a hard hat, safety glasses, earplugs and suitable work clothing is necessary. The working conditions at each job site change from clear and open to congested and tight.  You will be working outside in all types of weather.  You will be expected to be aligned with the Company Work Ethic Document, which is included in your new hire packet.
