PAY RANGE

$55,000 – $75,000 annually

The pay range is dependent on the person’s experience and capabilities. Benefits include paid vacation, sick leave, 401K and health and dental insurance. This is an employment at will position.

JOB OVERVIEW

Advance Tank & Construction is seeking an Accounting Coordinator to support all aspects of construction accounting. This position is a key member of the accounting team and is designed to develop into the primary backup for the Accounting Manager. The successful candidate will gain experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Job Cost, Project Billing, Cash Management, General Ledger support, payroll assistance, sales tax reporting, and financial administration while helping maintain accurate and timely financial information across the company.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND TASKS:

  • Serve as the secondary resource for the Accounting Manager and cross-train in all major accounting functions.
  • Process Accounts Payable including vendor invoices, expense reports, AMEX statements, and payment support.
  • Assist with Accounts Receivable, customer billing, collections support, and cash application.
  • Support job cost accounting, project billing, and construction accounting processes within Viewpoint Vista.
  • Assist with General Ledger reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
  • Assist with customer required Audits
  • Prepare and file sales tax returns where applicable.
  • Complete credit references and vendor/customer documentation.
  • Learn payroll and employee benefits administration.
  • Maintain accounting records and electronic filing systems.
  • Answer and route incoming calls while providing administrative support as needed.
  • Support the Accounting Manager/Accounting department as needed.

Non-Essential Functions, Duties and Tasks:

  • Follow accounting SQP’s and provide SQP development and maintenance support as needed.
  • Support Viewpoint Vista database maintenance and standardization.
  • Assist with company-wide accounting and process improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
  • Construction accounting experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Viewpoint Vista is highly desirable.
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

SCHEDULE

  • Daily hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with a half-hour lunch. However, there may be additional hours required depending upon schedule.

  • Work in a cubicle or small office, sitting at a computer or at your desk most of the day.
