Employment Opportunity: General Laborer/CNC Plasma Table Assistant (Wellington, CO)

Advance Tank and Construction is a construction company that works throughout the continental United States.  We build large capacity, steel erected, storage products from the ground up.  We are looking for a General Laborer/CNC Plasma Table Assistant in our Wellington, CO shop.  We are interested in those who are experienced, hardworking, and know how to work safely.

PAY RANGE

$20 – $24 per hour

The pay range is dependent on the person’s experience and capabilities. Benefits include: paid vacation, sick leave, 401k with company match, health and dental insurance. This is an employment at will position.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be able to safely perform all duties.
  • Must have experience in using the following tools: 4- and 8- pound hammer, fit up bar, grinders, chipping hammer and cutting tools.
  • Must be able to read tape measures and calipers.
  • Must be able to physically move 75 to 100 pounds, routinely.
  • Must be able to pass a post hire physical verifying ability to perform essential functions of the job, as well as a drug test.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES & TASKS

  • Must be able to safely perform all duties.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and perform assigned tasks in a safe and diligent manner.
  • With instruction must be able to safely move and handle heavy steel plate and structural shapes including loading, unloading, setting, aligning, fitting, assembling and cutting. Movement and handling are both done manually, up to 100 pounds, and with assistance of the overhead crane and other equipment.
  • Must be able to move large heavy plate steel on and off the table using overhead cranes.
  • Must be able to read drawings and label steel parts with paint pens for proper identification by fabricators and welders.
  • Change out consumable wear items in the cutting torch, and watch the CNC cut the plate looking for quality of cut issues and part tip-ups that can cause machine damage.
  • Must be able to climb onto the table to mark parts, remove finished parts, and to use a hand-plasma torch for scraping out the left-over material.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES & TASKS

  • Reading of blueprints, tack welding and layout of steel plate.

SCHEDULE

  • This position works 8 to 10 hours per day, 5 days per week; able to work overtime when necessary. Begin work promptly at designated time.

WORK CONDITIONS

Worker is on their feet, walking, kneeling, bending, lifting and climbing all day. The work is done primarily indoors in an industrial shop environment. Worker will be required to wear a hard-hat, safety glasses, ear plugs and safety boots at all times- a welding hood and respirator when appropriate.
