Advance Tank and Construction is a construction company that works throughout the continental United States.  We build large capacity, steel erected, storage products from the ground up.  We are looking for a Fabrication Manager for our shop in Pell City, Alabama.  We are interested in those who are experienced, hardworking, and know how to work safely.

PAY RANGE

$100,000 to $125,000

The pay range is dependent on the person’s experience and capabilities. Benefits include paid vacation, sick leave, 401K, and health & dental insurance. This is an employment at will position.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be able to perform all duties safely.
  • Must have 5 plus years of experience managing a fabrication/manufacturing facility.
  • Must have experience managing craft personnel and equipment to ensure safe operations in a steel manufacturing facility.
  • Must have knowledge of safe work practices in the steel manufacturing industry.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills, good attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Must have technical writing abilities to generate needed procedures, forms, and other documentation.
  • Must have verbal skills to present and implement procedures to management and employees as it pertains to the manufacturing/fabrication facility.
  • Must have experience with computers and be proficient with Microsoft Office programs and PDF editors.
  • Must be able to work on multiple tasks, report on task progress and work under deadlines.
  • Must have great organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity.
  • Ability to streamline or implement structures and roles to boost speed and efficiency, while supporting rapidly shifting business demands.
  • Strong working knowledge of industry regulation and legal guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRERD / NOT REQUIRED

  • Negotiation skills for both internal and external purposes.
  • Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics, using business management software (ex: SAP, ERP, CRM)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES & TASKS

  • Collaborate with management to streamline operations through the entire shop facility.
  • Maximize efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis, time/material studies.
  • Understand workflow and fabrication processes to maximize operational efficiency of the shop.
  • Responsible for all craft personnel, equipment, and facilities to ensure all operations of the shop can perform as required.
  • Responsible for all Safety, Quality, and Productivity of all craft personnel in shop facility.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES & TASKS

  • Develop, implement and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes to provide visibility into goals, progress and obstacles of key initiatives.
  • Work with department heads to provide information to be used to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals.
  • Assist management in devising strategies for ensuring the growth of programs company-wide and implement process improvement to maximize output and minimize costs, while prioritizing SQP.
  • Adhere to company policies and standards and ensure that laws and regulations are being followed.

SCHEDULE

  • Daily hours of office operations are 8:00am. to 4:30pm. Monday through Friday. Depending on the workload you may often work longer hours.

WORK CONDITIONS

  • This job requires the worker to be able to sit at a desk daily in an office environment as well as move throughout a heavy steel plate steel fabrication environment.
