PAY RANGE

$32.00 to $35.00

The pay range is dependent on the person’s experience and capabilities. Benefits includes paid vacation, sick leave, 401k with company match, health and dental insurance. This is an employment at will position.

The Advanced Rigger is responsible for the safe preparation, installation, and operation of rigging gear and equipment, including slings, chokers, chains, hoists, and come-alongs. This role supports lifting operations using cranes, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment while ensuring compliance with all safety standards and lift plans.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • NCCER Advanced Rigger Certification (required)
  • Minimum 3 years of construction experience
  • Must be able to pass a post hire physical verifying ability to perform essential functions of job, as well as a substance abuse test whenever required by Advance Tank or its customer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES & TASKS

  • Review and interpret work instructions, lift plans, and construction prints
  • Inspect work sites for obstructions, ground conditions, and potential safety hazards
  • Inspect all rigging gear and equipment prior to use
  • Prepare components for lifting, ensuring proper rigging, balance, and secure installation
  • Interpret load charts and lifting criteria to ensure safe lifting operations
  • Identify safety hazards and take corrective actions as needed
  • Communicate effectively with crane operators using proper hand signals
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of load capacity charts and safe lifting practices
  • Ability to calculate lift weights and determine center of gravity
  • Understanding of crane hand signals and rigging communication standards
  • Ability to measure plumbness, levelness, and alignment prior to operations
  • General knowledge of basic hand and power tools
  • Familiarity with safety monitoring equipment
  • Completion of site-specific safety training

OTHER FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND TASKS:

  • Ability to work at elevated heights (ladders, scaffolds, aerial platforms)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments, including confined spaces
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and stooping; occasional climbing
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

SCHEDULE:

  • The work is scheduled for Monday through Friday, often ten hours a day.  However, often the customer dictates the working hours, so may need to work hours prescribed by the customer.  Furthermore, overtime is required in this job.

WORK CONDITIONS:

  • You will be on your feet all day, which can include kneeling, bending, and standing.  Wearing a hard hat, safety glasses, earplugs and suitable work clothing is necessary. The working conditions at each jobsite change from clear and open to congested and tight.  You will be working outside in all types of weather. You will be expected to be aligned with the Company Work Ethic Document, which is included in your new hire packet.
