Advance Tank and Construction is a construction company that works throughout the continental United States.  We build large capacity, steel erected, storage products from the ground up.  We are looking for a Detailer Designer I in our offices in Pell City, AL and Kemah, TX. We are interested in those who are experienced, hardworking, and know how to work safely.

PAY RANGE

$25.00 to $30.00 per hour

The pay range is dependent on the person’s experience and capabilities. Benefits include paid vacation, sick leave, 401K, and health & dental insurance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a can-do attitude with desire to work within a team and learn new skills.
  • Must have the ability to visualize and understand construction processes.
  • Must have taken a drafting course in high school or college or have work experience within a drafting field.
  • Must have good understanding and ability to apply algebra, geometry, and trigonometry principles.
  • Must have the ability to use Microsoft Office Software.
  • Must have the ability to learn quickly and work with minimal direction from others.
  • Must have the ability to work on multiple tasks or work under a time deadline without getting flustered and with minimal direction from others.
  • Must pass post offer, pre-hire drug test.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES & TASKS

  • Learn and follow Company standard practices to prepare fabrication and erection drawings.
  • Work with other detailers to create contract drawings that are complete and in compliance with the design, customer specifications, project plans, and codes/standard requirements.
  • Develop a working knowledge of ATC shop and field practices to create drawings that meet shop and field capabilities.
  • Complete all administrative work necessary for contract work, including but not limited to distribution, folder management, documentation, and communication.
  • Develop/Have a working knowledge of AWS welding symbols and types of welding processes.
  • Develop/Have a working knowledge of OSHA regulations and building codes and standards that relate to steel tank and vessel construction.
  • Remain current on the company’s drafting software.
  • Establish a good working relationship, with consistent communication, with the Drafting Manager, other detailers, and others within the company.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES & TASK

  • Participate in the continued improvement efforts of the drafting department.
  • Perform tasks as assigned by the Drafting Manager.

SCHEDULE

  • Office hours are 8:00 – 4:30 Monday through Friday, with a half hour for lunch.
  • Must have ability to work overtime when asked by supervisor.

WORK CONDITIONS

  • This job requires the worker to be at a desk for most of the day working on a computer with trips to the shop or field as needed.
