Advance Tank and Construction is a construction company that works throughout the continental United States.  We build large capacity, steel erected, storage products from the ground up.  We are looking a Field Tank Foreman for our jobsite in Baytown, TX. This position will require a background check. We are interested in those who are experienced, hardworking, and know how to work safely.

PAY RANGE

$44.00 to $48.00

The pay range is dependent on the person’s experience and capabilities. Benefits include paid vacation, sick leave, 401K, and health & dental insurance. This is an employment at will position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience and knowledge of safety requirements needed when building Tanks, including within a large plant environment.
  • Extensive experience in construction or repairing large storage tanks, bins, silos, clarifiers and other steel plate fabricated products (hereafter Tanks).
  • Ability to direct, supervise and train 5 to 15 other employees in the construction or repair of Tanks.
  • Knowledge of the operations and mechanics of the following equipment: generators, rectifiers, welders, air compressors, automatic welding equipment cranes and other such equipment, including certifications in operations of some of said equipment.
  • Ability to manually move objects weighing up to 70 to 100 pounds repeatedly during the day, be able to climb ladders to tall heights and climb around confined spaces.
  • Capable of performing the paperwork that is part of this supervisory position as well as experience using Microsoft Office Suites and construction scheduling software.
  • Able to read blueprints.
  • Must be able to work on multiple tasks and work under a time deadline while maintaining composure.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills as well as good hygiene.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND TASKS:

  • Experience and knowledge of safety requirements needed when building Tanks, including within a large plant environment.
  • Read blueprints in order to determine and outline sequence of construction for the Tanks.
  • Oversee, direct, maintain and train a crew from 2-15 workers in the building of Tanks while maintaining the project’s construction schedule.
  • Ability to work side by side with your crew of welders and laborers performing the manual work of building Tanks.
  • Prepare the appropriate paperwork that is needed by the regional office and customer for progress of the work as well as payroll.
  • Work with the Customer, Inspectors, Suppliers and others at jobsite in an appropriate manner to achieve successful completion of each project.
  • Working with Safety personnel and Quality Control personnel, assist crew in working appropriately, knowledgeably and safely while constructing Tanks.
  • Perform the construction/repair work within the construction budget presented.
  • Care for and maintain the equipment at the job site.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND TASKS:

  • Hiring the field personnel necessary to fill a crew and build Tanks.
  • Over the course of employment with Advance Tank, train to become a Field Superintendent.

SCHEDULE:

  • The work is scheduled for Monday through Friday, often ten hours a day. However, often the customer dictates the working hours, so may need to work hours prescribed by the customer.
  • Furthermore, overtime is required in this job.

WORK CONDITIONS:

  • This job requires extensive travel within the United States and will require significant time away from home. You will be on your feet all day, which can include kneeling, bending, and standing.
  • Wearing a hard hat, safety glasses, earplugs and suitable work clothing is necessary. The working conditions at each job site change from clear and open to congested and tight. You will be working outside in all types of weather. You will be expected to be aligned with the Company Work Ethic Document, which is included in your new hire packet.
