Advance Tank and Construction is a construction company that works throughout the continental United States.  We build large capacity, steel erected, storage products from the ground up.  We are looking for a QA/QC Inspector for the Deer Park, TX area. We are interested in those who are experienced, hardworking, and know how to work safely.

PAY RANGE:

$40 per hour

The pay range is dependent on the person’s experience and capabilities. Benefits include paid vacation, sick leave, 401K, and health & dental insurance. This is an employment at will position.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a Certified Weld Inspector or hold the AWS QCI certification for welding.
  • Must have a journeyman level skill with the equipment, procedures, consumables and ability to perform the following weld processes: SMAW, GTAW, GMAW and FCAW.
  • Must be capable of certifying per ASME Section IX all positions with the SMAW, GTAW and FCAW processes.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills, good attitude and an ability to learn, including experience on computers preferably with Microsoft products.
  • Must be able to pass a post hire physical verifying ability to perform essential functions of job, as well as a substance abuse test whenever required by Advance Tank or it customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND TASK:

  • After training, must possess a good understanding of Advance Tank welding procedures, quality and testing requirements.
  • Promote and maintain effective communications with site superintendent, project personnel and customer regarding weld quality.
  • Prior to welding being done, must review materials for verification of proper material being used (including Material Test Reports), weld rod, weld gasses, welding processes, welder qualifications in order to determine if welder is qualified for welding process, as well keep a current weld map and continuity log.
  • Visually inspect that welder is performing work properly, while work is in process.
  • Assist welders in performing their work appropriately, teach about proper techniques.
  • Visually inspect completed welds to determine if the weld was done to code and Advance Tank standards.
  • Schedule, coordinate and monitor welds test being done, either by outside vendor or by Company personnel, to verify that testing is being done per appropriate code, and to identify repairs needed and appropriate repair process.
  • Submit continuity records and all necessary welding papers to corporate office for Tracking purposes.
  • Must be able to perform all duties safely.

OTHER FUNCTIONS, DUTIES TASKS;

  • Monitor Safety at jobsites while performing QA/QC functions.
  • Should be able to read blueprints, assist in layout, and physically work on site if necessary.

SCHEDULE

  • Most times it is 8 hours per day, 5 days per week: able to work overtime when necessary. Begin work promptly at designated time.

WORK CONDITIONS:

  • Worker is on feet, kneeling, or bending all day, and work is done outside in all weather conditions and at heights. Worker will be required to wear all required PPE, including wearing a respirator should work require it. This position will require travel.
